Rice bran wax is produced from the extraction and compression of rice bran oil, after separating it from rice grains. This process involves removing impurities and then subjecting it to hydrogenation to convert unsaturated fatty acids into saturated ones. This results in raising the melting point, transforming it from a liquid to a solid at normal temperatures. The characteristics of rice bran wax include hardness, clean burning, long-lasting, smokeless, and non-toxic properties. Rice bran wax consists of fatty acids, esters of higher alcohol, vitamin E, F, and gamma-oryzanol, which provide moisturizing properties similar to vitamin E for the skin.
